An educational lecture on the theme "Heydar Aliyev and Islamic Solidarity" was held at Azerbaijan University. The lecture was conducted by Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, MP Tahir Mirkishili.
Stating: “Solidarity is based on the principle of reciprocity, intellectual activity, mutual assistance and interoperability”- the guest underlined the importance of national leader Heydar Aliyev's work in this area. The MP said that after the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence, the national leader putting forward the idea of "Islamic Unity"paid attention to the issue of Islamic solidarity.
Basing on historical facts, guest pointed out that the national leader was the founder of the idea of Islamic unity and emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev’s call for “Islamic Solidarity” is a logical continuation of the idea of “Islamic Unity” proposed by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
It is said that President Ilham Aliyev’s declaring 2017 as year of Islamic Solidarity and the holding the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games specially in Baku are considered to be commendable. Today, in the world, especially in the Islamic world solidarity has become essential, and the contribution of Azerbaijan in this regard is undeniable.
The deputy gave information about the creation and spread of Islam religion and answered students’ questions.
Rector of Azerbaijan University Saadat Aliyeva, professors and teaching staff, and students attended the educational lecture.
It should be noted that educational lectures devoted to the theme "Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the idea of Islamic Solidarity" was held with the support of the Knowledge Foundation of the Republic on the occasion of Knowledge Day on September 15th, supported by the Ministry of Education and the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations (SCWRS). Lectures were organized in 120 institutions and organizations throughout the country – including 15 universities, 34 vocational and 62 secondary schools, 6 Knowledge Houses, Heydar Aliyev Center in Shamkir, Binagadi Youth House, Ivanovka Culture House.
