Round table on the topic "Role of Imadeddin Nasimi in the development of Islamic tradition" has been held in Azerbaijan University. The event was held by the department of Azerbaijani language and literature in the frame of the university's “Year of Nasimi” plans of events according to the order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “About celebrating 650 years of the great Azerbaijan poet Imadeddin Nasimi”.
The guest of round table was the researcher of the history of literature, a text writer scientist, and deputy director of the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, head of multidisciplinary manuscripts and print books department, member of Azerbaijan Writers Union, doctor of philological sciences Pasha Alioglu. Professor-teacher staff of the department, the third course students of the philology attended the event.
The head of the Azerbaijani language and literature department Ulviyya Ragimova introduced the guest to the students and noted that interpretation of the various moments of the poet's creative activity through traditional scientific seminars, lectures, roundtables and other similar events organized by the department is a great contribution to the Year of Nasimi.
In his speech Pasha Alioghlu gave information about Imadeddin Nasimi national identity, manuscripts belonging to him, irfani and hurufi (Sufi doctrine based on the mysticism of letters) views in Nasimi's creativity, Nasimi literary school, poets and adherents who carry the name of Nasimi. He emphasized that with his native-language poems Nasimi is a poet who can be compared with huge classic Arabic-persian poetry.
Afterwards, the professor of department Asif Hajiyev and the docent Ayten Hajiyeva spoke about how irfani and hurufi views reflected in Nasimi's creativity. The Professor mentioned that Nasimi's creativity and literary heritage should be presented in unity.
In the end, discussions were held on the topic, questions of the students answered.
