Professor of Azerbaijan University Asif Hajiyev's monograph "Bayati poetics: structure, semantics, pragmatics" has been published.
In the monograph, the poetic system of bayatis, one of the ancient genres of our folklore, is studied by formal-logical and structural-semiotic criteria. The book comments on the methodological issues of the study of our oral lyrics, explores the structural, semantic and pragmatic layers of bayati poetics, gives conceptual generalizations that characterize the bayati genre and our oral lyrics in general. The author who considers the perception of Bayati as the perception of our culture,language and essence has analyzed in detail the ethnopoetic worldview, symbols and signs, motives and concepts found in this genre, and he studied the role of phonopoetic, grammatical, lexical, syntactic means in the literary system, various aspects and general characteristics of text semantics, composition, rhythm, weight, and genre-style peculiarities as well.
The book, written with modern research methods and a new conceptual approach, using texts specific to the folklore of different Turkic peoples, is intended for philologists, students and masters.
The monograph was published by "Elm" publishing house by the decision of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS.
