The admission of foreign citizens to doctoral programs at Azerbaijan University is carried out on a competitive basis. Candidates are to forward a personal registration card, biography, 4 photographs (3x4), job description, extract from employment record book, list of published scientific works or a reference for the chosen specialty, written consent of the scientific leader, duly certified copy of diploma on graduation from a university (certificate of recognition of education documents for citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan studying abroad), copy of passport to the university by mail or email. All documents are to be submitted in English.
Applicants must submit the above mentioned documents upon arrival at the Azerbaijan University. Candidates will be informed of the outcome of the application by post.
Short description of the study programme
The theoretical content of the training of highly qualified specialist in folklore includes a systematic combination of knowledge, skills and habits that will be required for future research and teaching. Profound and systematic study of the theoretical and methodological foundations of folklore studies; mastering typological peculiarities of folklore and developmental patterns; acquisition of systematic knowledge about the theory of folklore, genre system, poetry, history of folklore and modern scientific methods and schools; ability to critically analyze and evaluate modern scientific results in the field of folklore; pedagogical activity in relevant areas of higher education institutions, ability to integrate research and research projects, activities in the modern scientific paradigm, integration and actualization of research; the formation of such important skills as an independent approach to the solution of scientific-theoretical research and practical issues, the ability to generate new ideas is the core of the course.
