Asif Pashayev, dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies of Azerbaijan University, made a report at the round table discussion on the topic “Modern educational process: problems, new demands and challenges” held at the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. 

Asif Pashayev noted in his report “New demands and challenges in conducting modern lessons” that modern challenges require a new approach to the teaching process and modern lessons face new realities. Becoming a university that meets modern requirements should be a priority for every higher education institution. The report covered topics such as student-oriented education system, benefits of student-oriented education system for stakeholders, educational program process flow model, compilation and approval of programs and syllabuses, general cultural competencies, professional competencies and the like. 

An exchange of views took place at the round table discussion on topics such as current problems in the modern teaching process; the specifics of teaching in military educational and civilian educational institutions: mutual comparison; new requirements and challenges in conducting modern lessons; choosing methods that interest and surprise learners: effectiveness and efficiency. 

The event was attended by officers, professors and lecturers of Military Institute, as well as representatives of Military Scientific-Research Institute, Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan University, Academy of the State Security Service named after Heydar Aliyev and Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
