Professor of Azerbaijan University Asif Hajiyev's new book "XX century history of literary thoughts " (Memories, manifestos, concepts) has been published. The editor of the textbook is the head of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature, Associate Professor Ulviya Rahimova, and the reviewers are Prof. Qorxmaz Guliyev and prof. Shirindil Alishanov.

The book reviews the history of extremely diverse, dynamic and complex literary thoughts of the twentieth century, and manifestos, concepts, memoirs and their translations about literary trends characterizing the literary process of the twentieth century. In addition to these grouped texts by different trends, commentaries and notes on each trend are also provided.

The course also includes translations from outstanding figures of the world - Ilya Erenburg, Nikolai Trubetskoy, Nikolay Gumilyov, Salvador Dali, Umberto Eco, Jan Paul Sartr, Thomas Eliot and other scientists, philosophers, writers and literary critics.

The basic value of the provided texts is on the expression of the conditions in which literary trends arise, the nature of the artists' circle, on the discovery of the essence of aesthetic criteria and artistic searches, their deviation from the time of judgment, and their commitment to public consciousness, and the fullness of literary texts.
