Azerbaijan University recently hosted a delegation from Washington University in St. Louis, USA. The meeting was attended by Saadat Aliyeva, Rector of Azerbaijan University; Yusif Gasimov, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs; Prof. Michael Sherraden, Director of the Center for Social Development at Washington University in St. Louis; and Aytakin Huseynli, a staff member of the Center. 

During the meeting, Rector Saadat Aliyeva expressed her satisfaction with the relationship established between Azerbaijan University and Washington University in St. Louis. She emphasized her institution's commitment to further developing and deepening these ties. 

Professor Michael Sherraden recalled his visit to Azerbaijan University a year ago and highlighted the fruitful meetings he had during that time. He specifically commended the high standard of the international conference “Social Work & Social Research”, which was jointly organized by the two universities. 

Yusif Gasimov, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, shared updates on the progress made following the conference’s resolution and noted that the “Social Issues” magazine was established and 6 issues of this journal have already been published. He also noted that the second conference will be held taking into account the interest of international and domestic scientists. 

Both sides expressed their mutual interest in strengthening bilateral relations and agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the near future.
