Fifteen students from Azerbaijan University successfully passed the PTE (Pearson Test of English) exams and obtained international language certificates at levels B1 (Level 2), B2 (Level 3), and C1 (Level 4). The certification exam consisted of two stages: an oral and a written component. Seven candidates passed the Level 2 exam, six passed the Level 3 exam, and two passed the Level 4 exam. The international equivalency scores are as follows: B1 = IELTS 4-5 or TOEFL 57-86, B2 = IELTS 5-6.5 or TOEFL 87-109, and C1 = IELTS 7-8 or TOEFL 95-110.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, seven candidates – Fatima Asgarova, Raul Gasymzada, Beyaz Valiyeva, Nurjan Saidaliyeva, Elmar Umud, Ilgara Afandiyeva, and Jamilya Mammadova – were awarded Certificates of Honor (Pass with merit) for achieving higher scores.

Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Aygun Gasimova, and Department lecturer Aysel Mehdiyeva presented the certificates to the students. 

It is noteworthy that since 2018, Azerbaijan University has been approved as a sub-center for the PTE (Pearson Test of English) program, which certifies English language proficiency at the international level. Considering the extensive career opportunities associated with international certifications, students are encouraged to study and take exams for this certification.
