Admission requirements

We would like to inform the applicants that;

  • Admission to the University of Azerbaijan is carried out by the State Examination Center (SEC) and in accordance with the general rules.
  • Admission to all specialties is possible by GOVERNMENT ORDER (free of charge).
  • In English-language specialties, the teaching period is 5 years, with 1 (one) academic year allocated for students' English language training. The competition for these specialties is held jointly with the Russian department.
  • Students who have been admitted to English-language specialties and who have confirmed their English language proficiency with international language certificates such as IELTS (6.0 and above), TOEFL (75 and above), PTE (50 and above) or successfully passed the Placement Test they start the first course directly.
  • Students admitted on a paid basis can also receive scholarships from the state budget starting from the second semester. At present, 353 students of the Azerbaijan University have been awarded scholarships at the expense of the state budget. The monthly amount of scholarships is 100, 145 and 175 manats, depending on the student's academic performance and is re-evaluated at the end of each semester.
  • The "Martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanli Scholarship" established by the Azerbaijan University is awarded to the student who was admitted to the university with the highest score in the first semester of the first academic year. The total amount of the scholarship is 500 manat.
  • The University Internal Two Diploma Program (UDID) allows students to earn 2 diplomas in 2 different specialties in 4 years. The program is open to students who have completed the first year, earned credits for the specialty in which they were admitted, have no academic debt in this specialty and have an average success rate of 85-100 points.
  • Special discount is applied to students who are admitted on a paid basis with a score between 500-599 points. The application of the discount in the next academic years also depends on the student's performance.
  • Azerbaijan University is a member of international exchange programs such as Erasmus +, Mevlana and DAAD. The Erasmus + program provides students with short-term study opportunities at leading universities in Turkey and Europe, and the DAAD program at German universities. The Mevlana program facilitates academic exchange with Turkish universities.
  • In addition to a professional diploma for 4 years, students are awarded ECDL (European Computer Driving License) and PTE (Pearson Test of English) certificates, which confirm the knowledge of computers at the international level.

Students with privileged status

  • Disabled during the protection of the territorial integrity, independence and constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Died for the freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Tuition fees for children of citizens missing in connection with military operations and declared dead by the court shall be paid from the state budget in the amount of education expenses approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on June 25, 2010 No. 120, and the rest from the budget of Azerbaijan University.
  • Lost both parents; Tuition fees for students under the age of 23 deprived of parental care or one parent has died and the other parent is a group I or II disabled person shall be paid in full from the state budget.
  • Tuition fees for persons with I and II degree disabilities, as well as children with disabilities under the age of 18 shall be paid in full from the state budget.
