As an important part of the multidisciplinary efforts to internationalize and build the international image of the Azerbaijan University, special attention is paid to the development of scientific and educational relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with the leading universities in the world.

One of the examples of the work done is the forming of the joint research group of the researches of the Azerbaijan University and the Military University, located in the city of Prague, Czech Republic. Vice-Rector for Science of the Azerbaijan University, Professor Yusif Gasimov, Head of the Scientific Department Dr. Latifa Agamaliyeva, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies Asif Pashayev, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics Dr. Bahram Azizov, from the Military University of Prague Dr. Michel Smerek and Dr. Veronika Lachinova have been involved to this research group formed a year and a half.

A part of the results obtained by the joint reaserch group on the developing the new methods using expert systems and fuzzy theory to estimate the risks in logistics were published in the journal “Naše More-International Journal of Maritime & Technology” as a original research paper entitled Application of Decision-Making Expert Systems in Transportation. The journal, which is published in Croatia, is indexed in the “Web of Science” database.

Based on a mutual agreement, it is planned to continue and develop research in different fields in the future, and attracting scientists from other research centers.
