Azerbaijan University to be represented at international contest in Georgia
The team of students from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies at Azerbaijan University: Alijan Mikayilov, Huseyngulu Rzayev, and Ulvi Sadigzada, were awarded 3rd Degree diplomas at the Caucasus Regional Stage of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). The diplomas were presented by Rector of Azerbaijan University, Saadat Aliyeva.
Based on their achievement, the team also qualified for the World Championship semifinals of the mentioned contest. The semifinals and the South Caucasus Open Championship will take place from December 13 to 15 in Georgia. The team will travel to Georgia later this week.
Before the award ceremony, the Rector met with the team members. Emphasizing the importance of students participation in international Olympiads, the Rector wished them success in the semifinals.
The team was prepared for the international competition by Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies, and Ali Gurbanov, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. The team leaders also received diplomas of the same degree.
It is worth noting that the 49th of ICPC this year is a prestigious algorithmic programming contest for students worldwide. The contest is considered one of the most prestigious in the world due to its number of participants and scientific-technical rigor.
