Azerbaijan University Initiates Cooperation with the National Observatory
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Azerbaijan University and the National Observatory on Labor Market and Social Protection Issues. The document was signed by Rector of Azerbaijan University, PhD in Philology Saadat Aliyeva and Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Elnur Safarli.
Prior to the signing ceremony, a meeting between the delegations took place. During the discussion, Rector Saadat Aliyeva provided insights into the University's activities and academic programs. She emphasized that one of the University’s key priorities in workforce preparation is aligning with the challenges of the modern business world, while also enhancing the University’s competitiveness. Additionally, continuous and systematic efforts are being made in key areas such as transforming the University into a research institution and strengthening university-industry collaboration. The Rector also provided insights into Azerbaijan University's position in international rankings and expressed confidence that this partnership would be mutually beneficial.
Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory on Labor Market and Social Protection Issues, briefed the University delegation on the institution’s activities. Emphasizing that the Observatory, serving as both a training hub for the Ministry and a think tank, operates in accordance with international standards, conducting surveys, monitoring, and analysis on various social issues, Elnur Safarli highlighted that the analysis of University graduate employment indicators is also within the institution’s scope. In this regard, collaboration between higher education institutions and the Observatory holds significant importance.
The meeting continued with an exchange of views and discussions on matters arising from the memorandum.
It is worth noting that the document outlines several key areas of cooperation, including the utilization of the University’s scientific potential in the Observatory’s activities, support for student participation in intenship programs, industrial practice, as well as seminars and training sessions. Additionally, it highlights the analysis of Azerbaijan University graduates’ adaptation to the labor market, the conduct of joint research, organization of scientific-practical conferences, symposiums, and other events, and the assessment of the quantitative and qualitative potential of the labor market, taking into account the parameters of emerging professions and specialties. Furthermore, the memorandum addresses forecasting the demand for essential skills and competencies.
