An event dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day was held at Azerbaijan University. The National Anthem was played at the event organized by the Department of Finance and Accounting, and the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Then the head of the Department of Finance and Accounting Nariman Boyukkishi made an opening speech. In his speech, the Department Head presented the fateful events of the 44-day Patriotic War in chronological order.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the University, Yusif Gasimov, shared his thoughts and emotions regarding Victory Day with the participants. He remarked that today marks the most glorious day in the 30-year history of Azerbaijan's independence. Azerbaijan is the only state in the 21st century to have restored its territorial integrity through its military power. The Patriotic War featured special operations that have entered global military history as innovations and unprecedented tactics and strategies, which are now being thoroughly analyzed and studied by international military experts.

Following this, speeches were delivered by participants of the 44-day Patriotic War, including Colonel Klos Abbasov, Head of the Training and Educational Center of the Azerbaijani Army, and Colonel Elman Tahmazov, Deputy Head of a Department at the National Defense University. Their speeches provided insights into the consequences of the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands between 1988 and 1994, facilitated with external support. It was emphasized that national spirit and solidarity played a significant role in achieving the Great Victory in the Patriotic War. This historic triumph was credited not only to the efforts of the military but also to the contributions of every our citizen.

Seyfaddin Gurbanli, a graduate of Azerbaijan University and the father of April martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanli, expressed his gratitude to the university's administration, faculty, and students for honoring the memory of his son.  Elvin Madinov, a fourth-year Computer Engineering student and a participant in the Patriotic War, shared fragments of his combat experiences in his speech.

The event concluded with the screening of a video dedicated to Victory Day, observed on November 8, and a memorable photo was taken.
