A seminar titled “Path to a career as a speech therapist and psychologist” was organized for a group of undergraduate and graduate students of Azerbaijan University. The seminar, hosted by the Department of Social Work Organization, featured presentations by Shahla Abdullayeva, founder of the “Oykos” Development Center and speech therapist-defectologist, and Aynura Aliyeva, chief psychologist of the Center.

The seminar began with an opening speech by Prof. Elmar Huseynov from the Department of Social Work Organization. Elmar Huseynov introduced students to the activities of the “Oykos” Development Center, outlined the seminar's theme, and presented the guest speakers.

Then the students listened to Shahla Abdullayeva's reports on “Who is a speech therapist?” and Aynur Aliyeva's reports on “Psychology career: The path to success”. The seminar continued in an interactive format, where students engaged in discussions, posed questions, and completed practical exercises related to the topics.

At the end, Nigar Shahhuseynbayova, head of the Department of Social Work Organization, noted that the seminar was organized in order to transfer relevant knowledge to future specialists who are preparing to work in the fields of practical psychology and defectology, and expressed gratitude to the guest speakers for their valuable contributions.

It should be noted that the seminar was organized as part of the implementation of paragraph 3 of the Action Plan on the implementation of the “State supervision over the implementation of children's rights”, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 8, 2012.
