Azerbaijan University hosted its 11th internal chess tournament, dedicated to the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. The competition, organized under the Blitz System, aimed to provide students with a well-organized leisure activity and to promote chess among the University community. 

The students participating in the tournament competed individually. The matches, supervised by the University’s chess trainer Nazim Mehraliyev, were marked by exciting yet intense competition.

At the end of the tournament, Javid Gasimov, a first-year student from the Faculty of Business and Economics majoring in Marketing, took first place, while Abdullah Karim earned second place. Uzeyir Karimov, a second-year student from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences majoring in Political Science, secured third place.

The winners were awarded cups and certificates.
