The Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Azerbaijan University, Rashad Mastaliyev, delivered a presentation titled “Green Goals in Science” at the “StartUp-AI for Green Solidarity” event held in the Green Zone as part of the 29th session of the Conference of Parties of the UNFCCC (COP29).

In his speech, Rashad Mastaliyev emphasized that global attention is currently focused on Azerbaijan, and hosting COP29 in Baku underscores the country's growing international reputation. He highlighted the significance of the “Revival of Karabakh – eco-projects” competition, announced by Azerbaijan University this year as part of the “Year of Solidarity for the sake of a Green World”, both at the local and international level. Mastaliyev also noted that Azerbaijan University places a strong emphasis on promoting student startup activities, with students from the ICT faculty actively participating in these projects. 

The event also featured presentations by other speakers, including Matanat Musayeva, Head of the Enterprise Azerbaijan Portal of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, Ibrahim Nasibov, a representative from the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, Huseyn Rasulzada, assistant to the rector of Nakhchivan State University, and Shahriyar Guliyev, manager of the “AgroChat” project. The speeches underscored the importance of presenting startup projects, aligning them with governmental and private sector structures, and proposed the development of actionable plans to advance this field.
