Students of Azerbaijan University participated in the green technologies competition
A team of students of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of Azerbaijan University consisting of Eyvaz Bayramov, Yunis Badalov, Ramal Mirzayev participated in the final stage of the “GreenTech startup and green technologies” competition held in Ganja city. The team demonstrated the “AI based Smart Village” project at the competition.
The purpose of the “AI based Smart Village” project is to create a fertile microclimate environment by collecting data about the plants to be grown in the fields and greenhouses using the artificial intelligence system. The students developed the project under the leadership of Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of ICT, as well as Kamil Jabiyev and Bahram Azizov, lecturers of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Students of the Faculty of ICT Alihuseyn Mirzayev, Nadir Mammadov and Amil Gasimov also participated in the development of the project.
It should be noted that the competition was organized by Azerbaijan Technological University (ATU) and supported by Education Development Fund (EDF), Kapital Bank, “Bir” Student-Volunteer Organization, Azersun Holding, ATS Food and AzGranata companies. More than 60 teams of 200 students from 17 universities competed in 5 categories: Robotics, Mechatronics, Energy Systems Engineering, Technologies for Humanity, and AI for Sustainability in the competition organized as part of the “Year of Solidarity for the sake of the Green World” declared by the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The purpose of the competition is to support the development of the incubation environment of green technologies in universities, the formation of innovative skills of students, as well as the expansion of cooperation between universities.
