“The Stranger” by Albert Camus will be discussed at the literary reading club
A regular meeting of the literary reading club The Voice of the Book, operating under the Department of Translation and Philology at Azerbaijan University, was held.
The session, attended with great interest by literature-loving students, began with a brief overview of previous events. The club chairperson and third-year student of the Faculty of Philology (English Language and Literature), Fidan Mukhtarova, spoke about the literary topics discussed in previous sessions, the artistic works presented, and students' performances.
Continuing the event, head of the Department, PhD in Philology Gulnar Rzayeva, emphasized the role of literary reading in aesthetic education and the development of speech skills. She highlighted the importance of such activities in fostering students’ literary taste, revealing their creative potential, and strengthening their public speaking abilities.
The meeting continued with a conversation between students and Department lecturer Emilia Aliyeva. Students actively engaged in the discussion and shared their personal attitude to literature.
During the session, the book selected for discussion at the next club meeting was also announced: The Stranger by French writer Albert Camus.
