A seminar on the topic “Communication and Effective Presentation Skills” was organized for final year students of the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) within the “Communication Skills” course. The seminar featured clinical psychologist and mediator Rashida Maharramova.

The presentation covered such topics as the basic principles of effective communication, effective methods of communication in front of an audience, body language and non-verbal means of communication, as well as managing anxiety during presentations. The guest provided useful recommendations on the importance of emotional intelligence in communication, proper conflict resolution, and the practical application of a mediation approach.

The interactive seminar included various practical assignments for students and demonstrations of their presentation skills. Two students who were distinguished for their activity were awarded, and the clinical psychologist conducted an individual session for them.

It should be noted that the main objective of the “Soft Skills” course is to support students’ future professional activity by developing their personal and professional qualities. The topics taught within the course are interdisciplinary in nature and cover a range of important areas, including emotional intelligence, communication, teamwork, leadership, and conflict resolution.
