A final report conference of Establishment of Rectors Conference in Azerbaijan of (ECAR) project was held

The concluding conference for the Erasmus+ project "Establishment of Rectors’ Conference in Azerbaijan / ECAR," in which Azerbaijan University is a participant, took place. Representing Azerbaijan University at the event were Rector Saadat Aliyeva, Rector's Advisor Nushaba Guliyeva, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Yusif Gasimov, and Head of the International Relations Department Elmira Ismayilova. 

Nijat Mammadli, adviser to the Minister of Science and Education, Ulkar Sattarova, director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, George Dafoulas from Middlesex University in Great Britain, and Viktor Bojkov, the first adviser of the European Union representation in Azerbaijan and head of the Cooperation Department, addressed the conference. They emphasized the project's role in enhancing relations between Azerbaijani and European higher education institutions, highlighting the significance of studying European practices and experiences.

European partners of the project - Rui Mendes, director of human resources from the Technical University of Lisbon, Fatou Estule, head of the higher education department from the French Organization for International Education, Christophe Terrase, director of international projects from the Belgian EFMD accreditation organization, and Viktor Kordas, the project manager of the Royal University of Technology, Sweden, also spoke at the event. They shared their insights and expressed satisfaction with the successful culmination of the project.

During the report conference, details were provided on the implementation phases of the project and the pilot committees functioning within it. It was emphasized that the "Establishment of Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan" project has extensive implications both nationally and internationally. With Baku Business University coordinating the effort, the project aims to foster networking and collaboration among Azerbaijani higher education institutions. Central to its objectives is enhancing the quality, competitiveness, and global integration of local higher education institutions.

At the end of the event, a ceremony was held to present the partnership agreement signed by 21 universities that are members of the project consortium.

Notably, the project, initiated in 2020 with the involvement of 16 local higher education institutions, has expanded to include 21 participating organizations by 2024, supported financially by the European Commission.
