The 9th Republican Scientific Conference of Young Researchers held at Azerbaijan University
Today, the 9th Republican Scientific Conference of Young Researchers was held at Azerbaijan University. The conference was organized across five areas: information and communication technologies and their applications; humanities; economics; social and natural sciences, and more than 200 presentations were delivered during the panel sessions.
At the opening ceremony of the event, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the University, Doctor of Mathematical Sciences Yusif Gasimov, delivered an opening speech. On behalf of the Rector of the University, PhD in Philology Saadat Aliyeva, the Vice-Rector welcomed the conference participants and noted that the event was jointly organized by the Science Department and the International Center for Master’s and Doctoral Studies. Yusif Gasimov emphasized that being an intellectual, scientist, and researcher in modern Azerbaijan entails great responsibility. Modern, independent, strong, and sovereign Azerbaijan has already ensured full control over every part of its territory, and under these conditions, significant responsibilities fall upon the country’s scientific community. The Vice-Rector underlined that the conference participants deeply understand this responsibility in the context of contemporary challenges and will adequately meet the tasks ahead. In his speech, he also noted that young researchers from Karabakh University actively contributed to the event. This fact demonstrates that the traditions of science and education are being restored in the territories liberated from occupation. The fact that the flag of science and education is also raised in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur is a matter of great pride.
Advisor to the Rector, Director of the International Center for Master’s and Doctoral Studies, PhD in History, Assoc. Prof. Nushaba Guliyeva noted that the conference has become a tradition since 2018, being held annually. She emphasized that the number of scientific papers presented at the conference increases every year, and its geographical scope is also expanding. The event has attracted the attention of young researchers and has become an important platform for them. Nushaba Guliyeva expressed confidence that discussions held during the panel sessions would make a significant contribution to the scientific activities of young researchers and wished the event success.
Later, at the opening ceremony, guest speakers of the conference: Lala Gahramanli, leading researcher at the Nano Research Laboratory of the Center of Excellence for Research, Development and Innovation of Baku State University and winner of the “Young Scientist of the Year” competition of aforesaid university in natural and technical sciences for the past three years, and Aydin Talyshinski, ENT surgeon of the Special Treatment Health Complex, Doctor of Medical Sciences delivered speeches. The guests presented their latest scientific results and
shared life experiences with the participants. In the speeches, which included interesting facts from the history of science, it was noted that patience, perseverance, continuous work, and determination are essential to becoming a professional specialist. The scientific indicators of each country serve as the main measure of its overall level of development and future progress. Difficulties and mistakes encountered in the process of scientific activity should not discourage researchers. Educating citizens with a strong sense of patriotism and responsibility based on science, ethical principles, and moral values can make a significant contribution to the country’s voice on the global stage.
After the opening, the conference continued with seven panel sessions. During the sessions, young researchers presented reports and presentations on topical issues in fields such as history, law, philology, economics, sociology, education, culture, and natural and technical sciences. Following discussions of the reports and presentations, the conference concluded.
It should be noted that the aim of the conference, which was rich in academic and scientific content, is to provide a platform for young researchers studying at different universities of Azerbaijan, at various levels of education, as well as those working in research institutes, to present their scientific results. The conference materials are available on the University’s website in PDF format.
