APFM held a seminar on “Financial goals through the lens of accounting” at Azerbaijan University
A seminar titled “Financial goals through the lens of accounting” was held at Azerbaijan University at the initiative of the Association of Professional Financial Managers (APFM), organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics.
Opening the event, Vice Dean of the Faculty Nahid Almasov introduced the seminar speakers. He emphasized the significance of such events in bridging students’ theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Chairperson of the APFM Board, Nuriyya Novruzova, then addressed the audience, highlighting the relevance of the seminar topic and commending the event contributions to enriching students’ theoretical understanding.
The keynote speaker of the seminar was Emin Kazimov, Head of the Finance and Administrative Department at the Consumer Goods Expertise Center.
In his presentation, Emin Kazimov elaborated on the interconnection between finance and accounting. He covered key topics such as defining financial goals within accounting frameworks, improving financial performance, corporate management, and ensuring financial stability. The speaker emphasized that accounting plays a vital role in setting, monitoring, and analyzing financial goals. Accounting data, he noted, provides critical indicators that support sound financial decision-making within a company.
The seminar, held in an interactive format, continued with a Q&A session and open discussions.
At the conclusion of the event, students who actively participated in the seminar were presented with gifts from APFM.
