Tasks Arising from the Memorandum Signed between Azerbaijan University and Probation Service are Being Implemented

As part of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” and in accordance with the action plan for the work to be done in 2025 in connection with the implementation of the tasks arising from the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Probation Service and Azerbaijan University, the training sessions on “Probation Legislation, Social Adaptation, and Rehabilitation” held by the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice. The training topics for probation officers mainly covered new trends in the field of probation.

The trainings were conducted by Azerbaijan University faculty members, the Academy of Justice, responsible staff from the Probation Service, the Social Services Agency, and the State Employment Agency, as well as professional mediators, probation volunteers, including social workers and psychologists.

The training program covered the theory and legislation of probation, social adaptation and rehabilitation, strategies and support programs for the reintegration of inmates into society, relationship-building and communication skills, conflict management, crisis intervention, risk assessment, identifying individuals in need of social services, finding employment opportunities for those under probation supervision, restorative justice, the development of international cooperation in probation, in particular, the importance of Azerbaijan's membership in the Confederation of European Probation (CEP), the compilation of statistical reports on probation activities, and other related topics.

Enforcement officers of the Baku city Probation Department, Sumgayit city Probation Department, and Absheron district Enforcement and Probation Department were involved in the training.

At the conclusion of the training, participants were awarded certificates.
