The textbook “Programming Technologies” has been published, authored by Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of ICT of Azerbaijan University, Rashad Mastaliyev, Head of the Department of Math and Computer Science, and Javanshir Kazimov, Assoc. Prof. of the Department.

The textbook consists of two main sections. The first section is devoted to the fundamental methods and tools of programming technologies. This section provides information on the stages of software development, software life cycle models, structured programming technologies, software testing and debugging methods, as well as object-oriented approaches, and explains them with practical examples. An analysis of the characteristics of various models used in software development is also presented.

The second section contains information on the core elements of the Python as a language compatible with modern programming technologies and demonstrates the rules for software development and execution in this language. The textbook explains the basic concepts of the Python language, such as strings, tuples, and lists, as well as the rules for developing programs using them. Special attention is also given to the rules for compiling functions, recursion, lambda expressions, arrays, sets, and dictionaries. In this section, the concept of a class used in object-oriented programming and the rules for its compilation are explained through practical examples, as well as the principles of polymorphism and inheritance, which are fundamental to this technology. Numerous program examples presented in the textbook help to better understand the topics covered.
