A presentation ceremony was held for the book entitled “Social Adaptation and Rehabilitation in Probation Practice: Theoretical and Practical Issues”, prepared by the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice and recommended for publication by a decision of the Academic Council of Azerbaijan University. The event was attended by Rector of Azerbaijan University, PhD in Philology Saadat Aliyeva; head of the Probation Service Vugar Agayev; representatives of state bodies and civil society institutions; specialists working in the field of probation; juveniles under the supervision of the Probation Service; probation service volunteers; and probation enforcement officers.

In his remarks at the ceremony, head of the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice Vugar Agayev emphasized the importance of the book in advancing probation practice in line with contemporary requirements and in developing scientifically grounded mechanisms for social rehabilitation and reintegration and noted that the publication serves as a valuable source of information for probation officers and researchers.

Rector of Azerbaijan University Saadat Aliyeva stated that the book represents the result of fruitful academic cooperation between the University and probation specialists. She underscored that such collaboration enables students to acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills shaped by real probation practice. The book will make a significant contribution to the systematic teaching of probation, social adaptation, and restorative justice issues within social work education, and will provide a solid scholarly foundation for future research and new publications.

Other speakers noted that the book would substantially enrich the educational process in the fields of social work, psychology, and pedagogy at higher education institutions, highlighting its particular importance as a practice-oriented academic textbook.

The presentation ceremony continued with scholarly discussions centered on the book. Participants highly evaluated the publication as both a teaching resource and an important academic source in the field of social adaptation and rehabilitation of individuals under probation supervision.

As part of the event, certificates and gifts were presented to three juveniles who had undergone vocational training at the Vocational and Labour Rehabilitation Centre for Persons with Disabilities under the Social Services Agency and were released from punishment in accordance with the recent Amnesty Act adopted by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and who had previously been under the supervision of the Probation Service.

It should be noted that the authors of the book are Vugar Agayev, head of the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice; Sayyad Majidov, head of the Department of Social Adaptation and Rehabilitation; and Nigar Shahhuseynbayova, head of the Department of Social Work Organization at Azerbaijan University. The book has been printed and distributed to relevant educational institutions.
