Student Scientific Society held introductory meeting with first-year students
The Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Azerbaijan University held an informational session for newly admitted students titled “What is SSS?”
The event opened with a welcoming speech by Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, who congratulated the first-year students and emphasized the importance of engaging in scientific and research activities. He also noted the strong support and attention the University administration gives to the Student Scientific Society.
Following his address, several University leaders delivered speeches, including Safar Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies; Nahid Almasov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics; and Elvin Talyshinski, Head of the Department of Political Science and Social Studies. They shared their perspectives on the significance of scientific activity and the role of SSS in fostering youth development.
Continuing the event, Solmaz Ilyaszada, Chair of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Gunay Dunyamaliyeva, Secretary General, provided detailed information about the mission and objectives of the organization, activities conducted in the previous academic year, and upcoming projects planned for the new academic year.
The meeting also featured speeches by Aytan Aslanova, Chair of the SSS of the Faculty of Business and Economics, and Namet Naghiyev, Chair of the SSS of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies.
During the session, participants were introduced to the structure of the SSS, its activities and contributions to the development of students’ scientific potential, and their questions were answered.
