A knowledge competition ‘For the Sake of a Green World’ was held among the students at Azerbaijan University. Eight teams (Ecology, Green Guardians, Flora Force, Harmony, Green Future, Green Planet, Kharibulbul, and Our Green World) took part in the competition aimed at enhancing students' environmental literacy, providing information on the climate change consequences and threats, and motivating them to read literature in this field. Each team consisted of 5 members, including a captain.

In the knowledge competition, the teams answered questions on green energy, COP and COP29, economics, information and communication technologies, and the return to Karabakh. Teams’ answers were evaluated by a jury in the composition of Elvin Talishinski (Head of the Department of Political and Social Sciences), Nariman Boyukkishi (Head of the Finance and Accounting Department), and Rashad Mastaliyev (Head of the Mathematics and Informatics Department). In the three-round knowledge competition, the jury awarded 1 point for each correct answer by the teams.

The Ecology and Green Guardians teams became the finalists of this exciting and interesting competition. Green Guardians gained the upper hand in the final battle, and the jury declared them the winner of the knowledge competition.

It should be noted that the knowledge competition was arranged based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 25, 2023, according to the Azerbaijan University’s Action Plan as part of the Green World Solidarity Year.
