Azerbaijan University students participate in the 2025 Summer Cyber School

Nihat Javadov, Akbar Mikayilli, and Vurgun Seyidov, the second-year students majoring in Information Security at the Faculty of ICT of Azerbaijan University, took part in the “Summer Cyber School 2025”, organized by the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association (AKTA) at the “Bilgah” recreation center of the State Security Service.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in daily intensive training sessions, hands-on workshops, expert panels, masterclasses, and a real-scenario cyber competition in the Capture the Flag (CTF) format. The training sessions were conducted in both Azerbaijani and English where the students were divided into Red Team and Blue Team groups, simulating various cybersecurity scenarios and challenges. During the summer school, side events such as the Cyber Education Forum, an open-air “meet-up” event of AKTA experts, and specialized masterclasses by the cyber diaspora members.

The primary goal of the project was to train highly qualified specialists in the field of cybersecurity, support the education of youth in this strategic area, and promote international cooperation and professional networking. The Summer School brought together 130 participants from Azerbaijan and Turkey, including 57 members of cybersecurity clubs established in local universities under AKTA’s initiative.
