Azerbaijan University hosted meeting with heroes of the Patriotic War
Azerbaijan University held an event titled “Victory in the Voices of Heroes” with the participation of heroes of the Patriotic War. The event was jointly organized by the “Sossfera” Social Development Club under the Department of Social Work Organization and the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and was attended by Patriotic War heroes Gazanfar Agayev and Ramazan Hudulov, war participant Farid Bagirli, representatives of the Agency, as well as the University faculty and students.
The event, dedicated to Victory Day – November 8, began with the performance of the National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
Speeches were delivered by Maftuna Ismayilova, Head of the Department of Organization of Inpatient Social Services of the Social Services Agency, and Aykhan Shahbazsoy, lecturer of the Department of Social Work Organization and founder of the “Sossfera” Club. The speakers emphasized the spiritual significance of the Victory achieved in the Patriotic War for the Azerbaijani people, noting that this triumph symbolizes the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity. It was highlighted that the purpose of the event is to contribute to preserving the memory and legacy of the glorious history and heroic epic written by the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War. Speakers also noted that ensuring the social welfare of war participants is one of the key areas of activity of the Social Services Agency.
Following the speeches, Patriotic War heroes Gazanfar Agayev and Ramazan Hudulov, as well as war participant Farid Bagirli, spoke about their combat paths, the unity and solidarity demonstrated by the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War, and shared their frontline memories with the students. They emphasized that the victory in Karabakh was achieved thanks to the faith of the people, the strength of the army, and the determination and leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Agayev, Hudulov, and Bagirli also spoke about the courage and selflessness of their comrades who rose to the peak of martyrdom during the Patriotic War, honoring their memory.
At the end of the event, students’ questions were answered and a commemorative photo was taken.
