Azerbaijan University hosted a seminar titled “Development of Artificial Intelligence Systems: Current Status, Challenges, and Prospects,” organized by its Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. The seminar attended by the Vice-rector for Scientific Affairs Yusif Gasimov; Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies Asif Pashayev; Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Rashad Mastaliyev; department faculty and students, was conducted by data analytics expert Ogtay Ibrahimov. 

In his presentation, Ogtay Ibrahimov discussed the essence, objectives, stages, and applications of data analytics. He highlighted that data analytics is a new field and the “oil” of our era. Data analytics plays a crucial role in managing and processing large data volumes, as well as in the decision-making process. 

The expert also touched on the topic of the “Internet economy”, noting that it is a new field and type of economy. He emphasized that the Internet economy creates a more flexible environment and outlined its advantages. 

Ogtay Ibrahimov further informed participants about the professions and specialties that artificial intelligence will soon keep in history and and that will emerge in the near future, noting that this process has already begun. 

Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Yusif Gasimov then took the floor, emphasizing the importance of the topic and thanking the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science for organizing the event.  

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where participants’ questions were addressed.
