A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between Azerbaijan University and the Center for Social Research. The document was signed by Rector of Azerbaijan University, PhD in Philology Saadat Aliyeva, and Chairman of the Board of the Center, MP Zahid Oruj.

Prior to the signing ceremony, a meeting was held between the parties. Discussions focused on the implementation of the memorandum's objectives and the preparations for the upcoming 2nd International Conference on Social Work & Social Research, scheduled for May 23–25, 2025. The Conference is being jointly organized by Azerbaijan University, the Center for Social Research, Fırat University (Turkey), and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (Turkey).

Rector of Azerbaijan University, Saadat Aliyeva, provided information on the introduction of the Social Work program at the University she leads, the number of students and graduates, the employment status of alumni, the University’s international collaborations in this field, and its future plans. She also emphasized that in 2023, the University's undergraduate Social Work program received international accreditation for five years, which enhances the University’s competitiveness and increases its responsibility in the field.

MP Zahid Oruj, Chairman of the Center for Social Research, noted that he closely follows the University’s achievements and is well aware of its success in international rankings. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would be beneficial and productive for both parties.

The MP also highlighted that analyzing the Patriotic War and its outcomes underscores the strategic importance of training professional social workers in Azerbaijan. He stressed that the implementation of the memorandum would contribute significantly to this crucial area.

The meeting continued with a mutual exchange of views. An agreement was reached between the parties on the preparation of an action plan and the start of its implementation as soon as possible in order to fulfill the tasks set forth in the memorandum.
