The first meeting of the working groups was held to implement the tasks arising from the memorandum of cooperation signed between Azerbaijan University and the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice.

Azerbaijan University was represented at the meeting by Rector’s advisor and director of the International Center for Master’s and Doctoral Studies, Nushaba Guliyeva; Head of the Department of Social Work Organization, Nigar Shakhhuseynbayova; and Director of the Center for Socio-Psychological Research and Counseling, Aygun Muradly. The Probation Service was represented by Deputy Chief Anar Jafarov, Head of the Department of Social Adaptation and Rehabilitation Sayad Majidov, Senior Advisor Aynur Karimova, and Senior Executive Director of the Baku City Probation Department Rovshan Aghayev.

The meeting focused on discussing the action plan for 2025 and exchanging views on its implementation. Key topics included organizing joint projects involving specialists and volunteers to support the social adaptation and rehabilitation of individuals under probation supervision; developing educational programs and materials while researching the application of modern and advanced scientific, educational, and practical methods; providing training for probation service employees; engaging students in internships at the probation service; organizing lectures and seminars on probation at the university; and improving the university’s existing educational programs to enhance the training of highly qualified professionals in Social Work with probation-supervised individuals.

It should be noted that the memorandum of cooperation between Azerbaijan University and the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed in october last year.
