A competition dedicated to anniversary of Muhammad Fuzuli was held at Azerbaijan University
A dramatic reading competition dedicated to the 530th anniversary of the birth of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Mahammad Fuzuli was held at Azerbaijan University. In the competition organized by the initiative of the Young Talents Club, participants recited the ghazals of the great poet.
The performance of the participants was evaluated by a jury consisting of lecturers of the Department of Translation and Philology Solmaz Suleymanova, Huseyn Huseynli, Ogtay Ismayil and Elzada Sadigova on a 10-point scale. Criteria such as speech clarity, fluency and expressiveness; compliance with the genre requirements; purposeful use of gestures and facial expressions, tone of voice in accordance with the content of the selected literary work; demonstration of presentation skills were considered in the evaluation process.
According to the decision of the jury, Elnura Javadova, a 1st-year master's student majoring in Philology (Azerbaijani language and literature), was declared the winner of the competition. Isgandarli Solmaz, a 3rd-year undergraduate student majoring in Azerbaijani language and literature, took the 2nd place. The third place was taken by Fazila Aydamirova, 2nd year student majoring in Philology (Azerbaijani language and literature) and Sevinj Turbandayeva, 4th year student majoring in Philology (English language and literature).
Both winners and participants were awarded with appropriate certificates.
It should be noted that the competition was organized under the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “In celebration of the 530th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Mahammad Fuzuli” dated January 25, 2024.
