Monitoring group of Baku International Multiculturalism Center visited Azerbaijan University
The Monitoring group of Baku International Multiculturalism Center visited Azerbaijan University to assess the quality of teaching the course “Introduction to Multiculturalism”, and to listen to any potential questions or suggestions from the professors teaching this discipline and students.
Members of the monitoring group: Irina Kunina, head of the Projects Department of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, and Tahira Alasgarova, consultant of the Department, first held discussions with Elvin Talyshinski, PhD in Political Sciences, Head of the Department of Political and Social Sciences where the discipline is taught, and reviewed the relevant documents. They then participated in a lesson conducted by the Department’s lecturer Afiq Nadirov.
After observing the lesson, the monitoring group conducted a survey among students in order to measure the degree of effectiveness and efficiency of the course.
It is worth noting that, since the spring semester of 2015, the Baku International Multiculturalism Center has been implementing a project to teach the course “Introduction to Multiculturalism” at the undergraduate level and “Azerbaijani Multiculturalism” at the graduate level. To enhance the knowledge of instructors teaching the course, the Center organizes training sessions twice a year.
