The results of the studies on obtaining a status of research-oriented higher education institution have given preliminary results at Azerbaijan University. As a result of the efficient work done at the university in the first four months of 2018, our colleagues published seven scientific articles in indexed journals included in the “Thomson Reuters” database indicating Azerbaijan University as an address (Clarivate Analytics)

On the other hand, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Dr of Physics and Mathematics Yusif Gasimov was elected as a member of the Program Committee of the II International Scientific Conference on “Innovations and Creativity” which was held at the Liepaja University of Latvia in April. Azerbaijan University was also the co-organizer of the conference. This is the first international conference outside the country organized by Azerbaijan University. Another important point is that two reports by the university colleagues are included in the program of this conference.

Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the university Yusif Gasimov has been invited to the conference on "Energy Materials and Nanotechnology" (EMN 2018) to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 19-23. The aim of the event is to gather world's leading scientists, researchers and engineers on energy and nanotechnology issues, and to create the conditions for sharing their latest findings and ideas in these areas of science.

All these works are an indication of the growing international reputation and scientific relationships of Azerbaijan University as a science and education institution.

Notice that transition to the e-university model, application of dual diploma programs and achieving research-oriented university goals was determined as priority objectives by Rector Saadat Aliyeva at the meeting dedicated to the results of 2017.
