Students of the Information-Communication Technologies School of Azerbaijan University studying on the profession computer engineering qualified for the final stage of Republican Olympiad in Informatics among high school students. Their team consists of Alizamin Habibli, Fahmin Zakirli and Nigar Alakbarova. According to the rules, 17best-resulted  teams of 17 high-schools qualified for the second (final) stage of Olympiad.

Organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Education and the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, the Olympiad is dedicated to the "17 May - World Telecommunication and Information Society Day". The goal of Olympiad is to rise the interest the knowledge and interests of students towards this sphere, meanwhile involve the chosen students to the international Olympiads. The Olympiad was held on the «ACM ICPC» rules (An international Olympiad among the teams consisting of high-school students).

The first round of the contest was held in Baku Engineering University. However, the final stage would be held in the Information Technologies Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on May 04, 2019.

The best resulted 4 teams in the final stage will be declared winners. Th winners will be rewarded with valuable gifts by the sponsors and also with the Honorary Decree by the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies.
