The “Revival of Karabakh” Competition at Azerbaijan University Concluded with Award Ceremony
The competition for the best student scientific work on “Revival of Karabakh – eco-projects” announced by Azerbaijan University as part of the “Year of Solidarity for the sake of the Green World” has ended. Winners of the competition and persons awarded special nominations were announced at the award ceremony organized on this occasion, they were presented with certificates, cash prizes (the 1st place - 1000 manats; the 2nd place – 800 manats; and the 3rd place - 600 manats) and various gifts.
Opening the award ceremony, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of Azerbaijan University Yusif Gasimov greeted the participants of the event and thanked the rector Saadat Aliyeva for the idea of the project, as well as for her support in its implementation. In his speech, the Vice-rector noted that there is a need to change the direction of economic processes in order to protect the world, and Azerbaijan is confidently stepping on the path to have a say in this process. By the relevant order of President Ilham Aliyev, 2024 has been declared the “Year of Solidarity for the sake of the Green World” in Azerbaijan. And in November, the country is preparing to host the prestigious COP29 event. The competition for the best student scientific work on “Revival of Karabakh – eco-projects” was also held precisely in order to support the processes taking place in the country.
In his speech, Yusif Gasimov thanked the participants of the competition and the Jury.
Afterwards, head of the Science Department, Latifa Agamaliyeva, gave brief information about the competition and announced the winners. According to the decision of the Jury, students of the Baku Higher Oil School were awarded the 1st and 2nd places. The “Smart Village” project presented by a group of students of Azerbaijan University took the 3rd place.

1st place: Farajov Ruhan, Farzalizada Shamil (Baku Higher Oil School) Development of new growth stimulating reagents based on local raw materials to reforest of Karabakh
2nd place: Murtuzov Ruslan (Baku Higher Oil School) Application of the piezoelectric effect in the floor panel layout and creation of an alternative energy source and its use in the Smart City concept
3rd place: Bayramov Eyvaz, Mirzayev Alihuseyn, Ismayilov Sanan, Mammadov Nadir, Gasimov Amil, Veyisova Ulkar (Azerbaijan University)

The event ended with a commemorative photo.
It should be noted that about 50 projects in different directions were presented to the competition, which was held in order to ensure the active participation of young people in the construction works started in the liberated lands. 10 of the presented projects have passed to the 2nd stage. The presentations of the projects were evaluated by the jury in accordance with the criteria determined in advance.
