The presentation of the book by Professor of the Azerbaijan University Asif Hajiyev “Shusha: literary and cultural environment” took place. The book tells about the characteristic features of the cultural and literary life of Shusha, the work of Shusha writers and cultural figures, the influence of the literary and cultural environment of Shusha on the development of national culture, the dire consequences of the occupation and the restoration of the cultural environment of the city after the historic victory in the 44-day war.

The book presentation ceremony was opened by Ulviyya Rahimova, head of the Azerbaijani Language and Literature Department, with an introductory speech. The head of the Department noted that the book is a valuable contribution of the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan to the “Year of Shusha.” The work is the third book of a four-volume monographic collection.

In his speech, the author of the book, vice-president of the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan, Professor Asif Hajiyev said that with the victory of Karabakh, a new page was opened in the history of Azerbaijan, and Shusha was in the center of the world's attention. The author noted that Shusha occupies a unique place in Azerbaijani culture due to its versatility. It is also the homeland of outstanding personalities who have exceptional merits in the socio-political and cultural life of Azerbaijan.  

The guest of the event, Egyptian scientist, PhD in philology Ahmed Sami Elaydi said that the victory of Azerbaijan in Karabakh is an important event for the Islamic world and sincerely pleases Muslims around the world. 

Then other speakers - Gorkhmaz Guliyev, Professor of the Azerbaijani Language and Literature Department, Safar Mammadov, Dean of the Humanities Faculty, Gabil Aliyev, Head of the Social Sciences Department, Tunzala Verdiyeva, Head of the Social Work Organization Department, Samira Mammadova, Head of the Translation and Philology Department, shared their opinions about the book and thanked the author for creating a book that provides complete information about Shusha.
