As part of their professional internship, students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Azerbaijan University, majoring in Social Work, took part in a new training session. The program, organized by the Public Association for Social Initiatives “Umidli Gelecek”, focused on the topic “Case management and its tools.” The aim of the training was to enhance the quality of social services and to develop the knowledge and skills of future professionals.

The session was opened by the head and main speaker of the program, Sanan Agayev, deputy chairman of the Public Association for Social Initiatives “Umidli Gelecek”, who delivered an introductory speech and engaged in a discussion with the students about one of the modern management approaches in the field of social services – the Case Management Model. He provided an in-depth explanation of the theoretical foundations of the model, its practical implementation mechanisms, and its importance in delivering beneficiary-centered services. Agayev also emphasized the functional role of this model in identifying the needs of beneficiaries, structuring the social work process, and building outcome-oriented activities.

Next, Ulviyya Mirzayeva, representative of Azerbaijan University and academic supervisor of the internship program, delivered remarks praising the opportunity for students to become familiar with the organization’s day-to-day operations, gain practical skills in a real working environment, and successfully integrate theoretical knowledge with practice. She highlighted the crucial role such trainings play in the students’ future professional development and in preparing them for purposeful engagement in their future careers.

It should be noted that the training provided participants with extensive opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge through real-life case examples. Through collaborative discussions based on the analysis of various social scenarios, students were able to demonstrate their decision-making skills in realistic settings. The session was considered a significant step toward developing both the theoretical and practical competencies of young social workers and was received with great interest and appreciation by the participants.

The training concluded with an open discussion session, allowing for mutual exchange of views on the topic.
