The presentation of the film “Khojaly - Dark Night” was held for the students of Azerbaijan University. The film, which is a new project of the Chairman of the Public Association of Awareness of Armenian Aggression, publicist Sariyya Muslumgizi, was prepared with the financial support of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the film, our compatriots, who were held hostage by the Armenians, narrated themselves about unthinkable tortures to which they suffered during the genocide in Khojaly.

At the event a bright memory of those killed in Khojaly, including those who died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was marked by one minute of silence, historical facts about the genocide in Khojaly were mentioned, the achievements of our country in the systematic international propaganda of Khojaly events in 1992 as a genocide were noted.

Sariyya Muslumgizi, Chairman of the Public Association of Awareness of Armenian Aggression informed that the genocide in Khojaly is, the bloodiest page in history, a tragedy that she passed through “that night” and saw with her own eyes. Muslumgizi, noting that 5 films have been made so far on the topic of genocide in Khojaly, said that more work needs to be done to inform about the tragedy internationally and drew attention to the specific results of the “Justice for Khojaly” international campaign.

The head of the department of social sciences, professor Gabil Aliyev told about the historical roots of the Armenian genocide against Azerbaijanis, emphasized that historical forgetfulness can cause tragic consequences for every nation. Gabil Aliyev emphasized that informing the world community about the genocide in Khojaly is a great responsibility for every Azerbaijani, especially young people.

The information about re-published book “They Will Never Grow” of Sariyya Muslumgizi was also given at the event. She reported that the book was written in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
