"September 27 - Memorial Day" was celebrated at Azerbaijan University as a sign of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and as well as all our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country. At the event organized on the occasion of Memorial Day, the memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded.

It was mentioned that September 27 was the beginning of the road to the great Karabakh Victory. The military victory of our people will become an economic and political victory very shortly. With the implementation of the "Great Return" program, the period of construction for our country and the restoration of our liberated territories will begin.

It was noted that during the Soviet period, the historical lands of Azerbaijan were given to Armenia in parts. Since the late 1980s, Armenia has made groundless territorial claims against Azerbaijan, committed provocations on ethnic grounds, and used military force. Since 1991, Azerbaijan has faced open military aggression by Armenia. The Karabakh Victory, which has no parallel in our last 200-year history, is of great importance not only for our country and the region but also for the Turkish and Muslim world.

During the speeches, it was emphasized that the political will of the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the bravery of the Azerbaijani soldier, and the solidarity of the Azerbaijani people, who succeeded in uniting the people around a single idea, played an invaluable role in the achievement of the great victory. Respect and gratitude for the memory of the martyrs were expressed, and prayers for the recovery of the veterans of the war (Gazi) were given.
