Confucius Center started to operate at Azerbaijan University

Confucius Center was opened at Azerbaijan University. The Center will operate within the framework of joint cooperation with Confucius Institute at Baku State University (BSU). Learning Chinese culture and teaching Chinese language are envisaged in the center.

Information was given about the history and mission of the Institute and its activities in Azerbaijan in the ceremony on the occasion of the opening. Director of the Institute on China Ms. Luo Siaochi noted that the first Confucius Institute was opened in the capital city Seul, Korea in 2004. It started to operate in Azerbaijan in 2011. Ms. Luo Siaochi said: “Promoting Chinese culture and philosophy all over the world and developing friendly relations among China and other countries are the missions of the Institute. Chinese language in Azerbaijan is taught through this organization. The Institute has made a significant contribution to the establishment of strong friendly ties between China and Azerbaijan over its 7-year activity. "

The guest spoke about the courses organized by the institute, education and scholarships, career perspectives of international certificate in Chinese language, as well as the "Chinese Bridge" international competition.

An exemplary lesson on Chinese language teaching was presented in the event. The opening ceremony ended with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony for the participants.
