The V Internal Chess Tournament dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Azerbaijan University today. 20 participants competed by the Olympic system at the tournament.

The winner of the tournament was Vugar Mammadov, a fourth year student of the Business and Economics faculty on Financial speciality. Niyamaddin Bondorenko, a fourth year student of Computer Science and Information Technologies Faculty, took the second place and Nazrin Ahmedzadeh, 3rd year student of Business and Economics Faculty on Financial speciality took the 3rd place.

The winners were awarded with trophies and diplomas as well as valuable prizes. The winner of the first place was awarded with a smartphone, the second-place with a tablet, and the third one with a mobile phone device.

The competition is organized for the purpose of effective organization of students’ leisure time and increase the chess mobility.
