A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Azerbaijan University and the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The document was signed by Saadat Aliyeva, Rector of Azerbaijan University, and Vugar Agayev, Head of the Probation Service. 

Before the signing ceremony, a business meeting was held between the parties. Officials from the Office of the Ministry of Justice and the Probation Service, as well as the representatives of Mediation Council and civil society attended the meeting. 

At the meeting, rector of Azerbaijan University Saadat Aliyeva gave information about teaching of Social Work specialty, employment indicators of graduates, activity of newly established Center for Social-Psychological Research and Counseling. Vice-rector for Scientific Affairs Yusif Gasimov familiarized the guests with the scientific activity and successes of the University in the field of social work.  

Vugar Agayev, Head of the Probation Service, shared information about the work of his department, the work done by the Serviceand its international relations. Chairman of the Board of the Mediation Council Nadir Adilov emphasized the importance of social work specialists’ involvement in the probation and mediation processes. 

Following the business meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed. According to the memorandum, the parties agreed to develop relations in socio-psychological services, apply advanced methods in social intervention and psychosocial support, implement joint projects, conduct research and analysis, organize conferences, seminars, and educational events, and establish cooperation that meets modern standards and serves the public interest in this field.
