The second training of the “COP29 simulation” project was organized at Azerbaijan University. Experts from the USA, Pakistan and Azerbaijan spoke to the project participants at the training, which was jointly moderated by the Head of the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities of the University, PhD in Political Sciences Elvin Talyshinsky and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics Khanym Guliyeva.

Samir Novruzov, head of the American-Azerbaijani Integration Center and, specialist in EPC projects in the oil and gas industry in the United States, noted that the decision to hold COP29 in Azerbaijan is a manifestation of trust and respect for our country in the international arena. He stressed that the elimination of many problems related to climate change in the world is very important for both Azerbaijan and the United States, and informed about the work done in this direction in both countries.

Zaman Bajwa, executive director of Pakistan Kashmir Youth Forum Think Tank, spoke next. Zaman Bajwa said that the problem of climate change is a priority issue for Pakistan, and emphasized the importance of active participation of youth in this process. The Pakistani expert also commented on the holding of the 29th COP session in Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, Chairman of the Public Union for the Support of Journalists for Diaspora Activities Fuad Huseynzada spoke about the importance of holding COP29 in our country and the role of the media, especially civil society in this session. 

It should be noted that the “COP29 simulation” project with the participation of students from various higher education institutions is organized within the framework of Azerbaijan's hosting COP29 (the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the UNFCCC) and the “Year of solidarity for the sake of the Green world”. The purpose of the project is to transfer knowledge to students about the impact and consequences of political decisions of states on the environment and our planet, to develop their skills in public speaking, forming arguments and conducting debates, and to inform students about this international event. Training for the “COP29 simulation” project will continue in April and May.
