The 2nd Republican Scientific Conference of Young Researchers was held at Azerbaijan University today. At the conference, masters, doctoral students, dissertants and young researchers from 44 different educational institutions, academia, research institutes, representatives of various government agencies and non-governmental organizations of Baku, Nakhchivan and other regions discussed scientific innovations they achieved  and exchanged views.

Initially, the participants of the conference honored the memory of the national leader laying a wreath at his bust at the university lobby.

The State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed at the event.

The event was opened by the rector of the university Saadat Aliyeva. The rector noted that youth policy in Azerbaijan is an important part of state policy. There are a number of factors that make it necessary. Mr. President Ilham Aliyev has stated the strategy of transition from oil-based economy to economy based on human capital and technologies in Azerbaijan. Successful implementation of this strategy, which envisages the construction of new industries based on new innovative technologies in our country, depends on the creation of human capital with innovative knowledge. This capital is formed at schools, universities, audiences, seminars and conferences. The work done to increase the interest and activity of young people in scientific research should serve to prepare reliable, intellectual, highly-qualified, personnel with up-to-date knowledge.

Saadat Aliyeva mentioned that celebration of February 2 as the Youth Day in our country, the reward of the Presidential Order of the young people, who have succeeded in various fields on that day, increasing the scholarships of students, masters and doctorate students, and taking serious steps towards solving their social problems bring out their outcomes. Fortunately, the number of young people who decide to engage in scientific activity and who see their future in this field increases with each passing year.

Taking these into account, Azerbaijan University is working to orient young people to innovation and new technologies. The 2nd Republican Scientific Conference of Young Researchers is a part of this activity. "I believe that conferences organized at Azerbaijan University will play an important role in your future development as serious researchers. Because every scientific conference is a new opportunity to present and discuss your scientific results. "

Saadat Aliyeva congratulated the conference participants on the upcoming Novruz holiday and wished success to the conference.

Then the Head of the History Department of the Azerbaijan-Russia Relations Institute of the ANAS Institute of History, Doctor of History Sevinj Aliyeva, Deputy Chief of the Department of Natural Sciences of the Higher Attestation Commission, Doctor of Physics Sakin Cabarov, Deputy Director of Azerbaijan Teacher Development Center, PhD in Philology Khadija Jafarova highlighted the importance of participating in scientific conferences, saying that such kind of events are indispensable platforms, not just for young researchers, but for all scientists to bring their results and innovations they get in the laboratories to the public.

The speakers noted that the conferences organized at Azerbaijan University were events that could be presented at international arenas, and  called young researchers on to contribute to the rise of Azerbaijani science in the world rankings.

After the opening ceremony,  the conference continued in 7 sections, history and law; philology - literature; philology - linguistics; economy; sociology; mathematics, physics and ICT; teaching methodology

The conference ended with a closing ceremony. Pro-rector on scientific work of the University, prof. Yusif Gasimov thanked the conference participants for chosing scientific activitiy as a profession and lifestyle and submitting their results and innovations to the conference organized by Azerbaijan University. Yusif Gasimov said that more than 300 articles were submitted to the conference, of which 228 were accepted, and more than 120 reports were listened in sections during the day. The Prorector said: "The thing that made our conference valuable were your reports. I congratulate you for the positive feedback you have received and I believe that among the young researchers participating in the conference sections, valuable scientists will be able to grow for the scientific environment. "

At the end of the event, the authors of the best scientific research works were rewarded with special certificates.
