The Teaching and Learning Center of Azerbaijan University held the first seminar of the academic year. The seminar on “Inclusive Education: basic concepts and practices” was conducted by Nigar Nasrullayeva, an expert on inclusive education. The online seminar was conducted via the “Microsoft Teams” platform.

The seminar covered topics such as the concept, system, importance and policy of inclusive education, work and experience in this field, convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, difficulties in the medical approach to special education needs, the involvement of children with disabilities.

Tunzala Verdiyeva, Head of the Organization of Social Work Department, and teachers of the same department Aysel Gasimova and Aygun Bunyatova besides presenting some information on the organization of inclusive education and implementation of it in our country shared their experiences.

The seminar, mostly attended by master students majoring in social work, was followed by discussions after the theoretical part. İn the end, Nigar Nasrullayeva clarified various aspects of inclusive education by answering students` questions.
