The book "Words and Illustrations" by Michel Foucault, translated from original  by Professor  of Azerbaijan University, Korkhmaz Guliyev, has been published.

The book is the first meeting of a French philosopher with an Azerbaijani reader. In this work the writer  expresses the principles of a new approach to the history of thought and social institutions. In the book, the main problem that Fuko reveals and tries to solve is to try to answer the questions "Is the world we know is a manifestation of things?" or "Is it the activity of special mechanisms that regulate our perception of things?

Writing  the introduction of the book, Professor Korkmaz Guliyev noted that it is necessary for azerbaijani readers to get acquainted with the creativity of Michel Foucault, who has a distinguished role in defining one of the main ways of developing social and humanitarian thought of the 20th century and who has special services in the formation of  structuralism, poststructuralism and postmodernism since the 50s of the last century. Since its inception, the work "Words and Illustrations", around which  the debates haven’t been ceased even today , has played and continues to play an important role in the development of social and humanitarian thought of the 20th century.

The book of 476-page will soon be presented to the literary community.
