The editor-in-chief of “Iki Sahil” newspaper, the member of the Political Council of the New Azerbaijan Party and the Board of Press Council and honored journalist Vugar Rahimzada delivered a lecture to the students of Azerbaijan University on the theme “The nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev is the founder of Modern Azerbaijan”. In his lecture Vugar Rahimzada stated that, in the last 26 years upon regaining of its independence after political and public disturbances of the 1990s, Azerbaijan has been ahead of the countries that possess 100 years of statehood experience.

The event was opened by the Vice-rector for academic affairs of Azerbaijan University and professor Yusif Gasimov. The Vice-rector stated that the meeting chanced upon the eve of significant and remakable days.  Such portentuous events are dedicated to the unprecedented services of the nationawide leader Heydar Aliyev. 

In his speech Vugar Rahimzada described the political and public view of the 1990s of Azerbaijan. The editor-in-chief emphasized that, our country has faced threats that endangered its independence and danger of removal from the map: “Upon return of the nationwide leader at people’s insistence, the country flourished and there were established political and public stability and principles of economic development. Oil contracts were concluded and consecutive reforms were conducted in terms of united army building. Today our country has an advanced constitution and an abundant legislative base”.

The event also covered the measures taken in terms of development of press, education and other fields in Azerbaijan. It was highlighted that all such successes rely on the wise and farsighted policy of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. The policy founded by the nationwide leader is now successfully continued and improved by the President Ilham Aliyev.

V.Rahimzada stated that, November marks the adoption of the State Flag and the first Constitution of Azerbaijan, outbreak of national freedom movement and establishment of the New Azerbaijan Party. With its specific values, the Parties contributed “political culture” to the political life of the coutnry and this year it celebrates 25^th anniversary. The editor-in-chief has celebrated all the party members on the anniversary.
