Azerbaijan University was represented at the 16th Conference of Rectors of the Black Sea Region, BSUN 2024, organized by the Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN) at Istanbul University in Türkiye. The event, which was attended by Elmira Ismayilova, the head of the International Relations Department, focused on strengthening academic collaboration, implementing innovative projects, and discussing the future of scientific research. Representatives from 12 countries and 120 universities participated in the event.

It is important to note that BSUN is a network established in 1998 that unites universities in the Black Sea region. The primary goal of the organization is to promote cooperation among member universities, implement joint educational and research projects, and contribute to the sustainable development of the region. BSUN facilitates the exchange of experiences and knowledge among its members through various conferences, seminars, and training programs. Azerbaijan University has been a member of BSUN since 2024.
